[sheflug] Hald/Hotplug fun..
Hi there...
I admit defeat in my attempts to figure out how things work with
hotplug usb devices.. I am trying to add a new device, and I KNOW it
works fine with the usb-storage drive, since if i manually load that
driver then it finds the drive.
Now, where does the whole hald/udev/hotplug hide its mappings of
device IDs and which drivers to load? Basically its a Sony-Ericsson
phone with a memory stick in it and currently the system just ignores
it being plugged in. I'd like things to auto-load the usb-storage (and
do the nice gnome-volume-manager stuff too if possible, which i
beleive hald/dbus will do once i sort out the correct file? like it
does with my mp3 player?)
Would also be nice if it loaded usbserial (with correct ID's) so i
could use the modem in the phone too.. which also works for manually
loading the driver..
Any ideas where all these mapping files hide?
The phone is a D750i, and very nice it is too... and even more when
linux works with it..
