Yeah, that definitely looks reasonable.
You might want to remember while you're reading that, though, that in
practise you'll probably want to use some kind of JS library to abstract
away a lot of the platform differences; even with a reasonable library
it can still be highly annoying trying to work around browser
differences.
Also, most everything on the Internet regarding JS is thoroughly
worthless, but there is some great stuff about if you know where to
look:

... and any of the links off Wikipedia's JS page are worth starting
with.
