Advent 4211, currently running Kubuntu (installed via Wubi from Windows 
XP and LVPM'd to permanent partition).  Have dropped back to Gnome due 
to problems in seeing the buttons in configuration dialogs due to 
"unusual" :-)  screen res of 1024x600.

WiFi is flakey occasionally, but there is an excellent write up of how 
to get it working on http://forums.msiwind.net/ in the linux section

Certain features like suspend are not supported in K/Ubuntu, but nothing 
major.

Don't know about the touchpad but the msiwind forum would be a good 
place to ask the question, I have seen mention of this but didn't read 
the thread. (IIRC)

Battery life is close to useless 1.5 - 2 hours at most, but there are 
third party developers working on a replacement.

Overall I am still impressed, I chose the Advent because of its screen 
size and the 80gb hard drive.
