You may wish to take a look at
<http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/20>. You could get the
source in Debian/using the Debian mirrors, and then complete the
re-packaging process in Ubuntu. That keeps it within your package
manager so it is cleaner to remove, should you need to in the future.
