That is what I've been told as well, VirtualBox is optimized as a desktop VM system whereas ESXi and Xen are apparently better for server based applications. I'm currently test driving all three on my new server. google for them? http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=e17+ubuntu seem to turn up a few worthwhile links imho. All of the links out there point at old packages. I was hoping a debian wizard would tell me that there's a automagic way of dowloading the source packages are rebuilding them. I seem to remember back some years that Alex H built his own X11 from source packages in a reasonably automated fashion. further digging in Debian land required. Simon
