Certainly yes on a linux box, as I typed that stuff on my debian
box here. Anyway, /proc stuff is common to all distros, as it is a
virtual filesystem, which is mapped to an area of memory that holds
information on stuff lying around the system (pci devices and all that).
/proc/interrupts is just a list of the IRQ sources and the number of
times they have requested servicing. So in my particular case above, the
ps2 mouse has IRQ 12 assigned and has requested stuff 5571 times.
Obviously, YMMV here :)
As for the question in the other posting, in debian (and all
other distros, I believe), XF86Config is in /etc/X11/XF86Config.
