[Sheflug] mount & boot

I know you're getting pissed off with me by now but I have to ask someone :))
3 problems !st do'nt really matter so It's probably the easiest to solve.
CDplayer does not play ! cd goes round no music, works fine in windows.
Next 2 problems really do matter.
I have suse 6.4 running. best installation I have managed. when I set up I put
LILO on floppy as this is where I want it, worked fine first couple of boots,
Now I get at boot LIL- and stop, I can run suse by using the installation disk
and "boot existing system" but not a good way to work. I have used Yast to
"configure LILO" chosen boot floppy and see it writing but same result at boot
up.
Having read some info pages I have tried in a terminal "mkbootdisk (uname -r)
but get the message "command mkbootdisk not recognised"( see I am trying)
next problem
I have tried to read the cover disk from this month Linux format, When I try to
mount cd-rom ( from within kde) I get (as user) message
"Could not mount"
"Error log"
mount: only root can mount?dev/hdb on/suse

So boot as root
As root get the message
" could not mount"
"error log"
"mount: mount point/suse.does not exist

cd-rom properties are.
CD-rom. kdelnk
access permissions set to
read = user/group/others

hope you lot can help as I want to try the web downloader to get corel photo
paint

Thanks
Pete
