[Sheflug] INTERNET CONNECTION

I have Slackware 3 linux on a p75 laptop.
The 3c562d combi NIC and modem appears to work.
I would like to try to send and receive mail.
Maybe internet browsing if this is possible (not too woried about the
speed).

any suggestions as to what software to use, how to setup, especially how to
configure the modem ( it's 33600 by the way).
