[Sheflug] Kernel location
Hi,
recently there has been a lot of talk generally about where to keep your
kernel source. Now, using SuSE I usually lazily keep it in
/usr/src/linux-<insert version> with a symlink to /usr/src/linux
I know this is not good. From what I understand, keeping a clean version of
the kernel source, so includes and whatnots are available, in /usr/src/linux
is OK, but the kernel you actually compile, patch, hack, break etc should be
somewhere else (I'm thinking /usr/local/src/linux-<version>)
Have I got the right end of the stick here? Just a thought
Craig
