Yep, unless they updated it within the last three days. I had RC before I
went to 1.4 - before 1.4 came out. I had the Ximian 1.2 Channel, the RedHat
channel, the 1.4beta channel, Evolution snapshot channel, and maybe one or
two others I can't remember. I then went to do the 1.4 upgrade the day after
it came out. The only thing available in the 1.4 channel was RedCarpet - so,
I presume, a later version of RedCarpet was needed to upgrade to 1.4. This
RC was downloaded and installed, and when I exited and ran it again, lo,
there was 1.4 channel with lots of packages (subscribed), and the only
unsubscribed channel available was the RedHat channel.
Another thing I have noticed with RC - it doesn't always seem to install the
packages you select. It gets as far as downloading them (they're in
/var/cache/red-carpet/ or whereever it is), but doesn't actually install
them (well, most of the time it does, some times it doesn't). Going through
the procedure of selecting the package again installs it (sans download,
obviously). Plus, the cryptographic checks aren't used, which is excessively
annoying. I'm willing to believe it might be some stale Ximian/HelixCode
stuff on the machine - I've been running it for ages, it might be that
uninstalling it and re-go-gnoming sorts it out.
On the subject of re-go-gnoming, that's possibly what I'm going to do to my
Debian desktop. I actually went through the process of downloading packages
_manually_ yesterday, and they don't install - Ximian have moved files from
one package to another, so all the ownership is screwed. So, the thing needs
to be updated en masse, which is a 'ing pain without task-helix-gnome or
equivilent.
:(
