Re: [Sheflug] Newbie again - help needed!

Hi Ruth,

Usually on RH you are given the option of installing Lilo or not or another
boot manager (can't remember its name). You are also prompted as to whether
you want to instal lilo on the MBR or the first sector of the default hard
drive. If you do choose to install lilo, you are then asked if you wnat to
add any other OSs to it and you would then get the option of choosing <dos>
(this is the normal default for windows) at the lilo prompt.

It sounds to my as though you missed selecting the 'install lilo as your
default boot manager?' option during the install. Rather than messing about
trying to alter files manually, it would probably be easiest to reinstall
(it would be different if you had an 'established' linux system with loads
of other stuff loaded as well).
