okay im sorry im didnt mean it like that dont hate me!!

im not much of a programmer at the moment, thanks to my stupid university 
only teaching me java, which to be honest is an extrememly slow language. 
sure its easy to learn and it can do a lot, but it all runs so slowwwww.

anyhew, thanks for everyones help. hey, i might bring my computer to a 
meeting sometime then let one of you expert type people fix it. :)

ps: i wasnt aware we had a famous person here.... just read linux magazine 
and saw mr ibbotson had rather a lot of articles... surprised me anyway! how 
cool is that, i know someone famous!! sort of...

yup i realise after going through sourceforge and freshmeat theres a hell of 
a lot of useful stuff out there that i can tinker with. 

ps: i want to develop a 3d game... simple kind of angled down view with a 
central character who goes around killing stuff hehe. what language would you 
suggest i learn to write it in, and how would i go about making the 3D bit 
out of open gl.. i know someone who can make character models etc for me , 
but im in one of those amazing i really want to learn stuff kinda moods, so 
does anyone know of someo good tutorials out there on the net i can get 
started with? i swear this game will be the best ever made!!!
