[Sheflug] HTML mail (was Re: Linux)

Its not just the Linux world. You'll see this policy on other mailing lists
- certainly two other lists I'm on (decidedly non-techie - one is a support
group, the other a social group, both contain large numbers of non-techs),
HTML mail is frowned upon.

I can only read plain text mail reliably. exmh tries to do a fair job of
rendering HTML, but its by no means perfect (especially if the author has
tried to be fancy). I know people that still just use Pine on a text display
to read email. Thus HTML inconvienences them. Yes, I know you can send mail
that has text/plain and text/html but that wastes bandwidth ... and if
you're providng a text/plain version anyway, no point sending a HTML version
:)

Anyhow ... that's just my 2p. I'll get off me soapbox now :)
