I've just spent some time installing, removing and upgrading various
RPMs this weekend and rpm has hung several times.
I'm not terribly impressed by it.
Killing off rpm during an upgrade seems to end up in 2 installed
versions of the packages being upgraded - ensure you remove the old
version after you rebuild the db.
As an aside, I installed apt for RPMs from freshrpms - very nice. All
that apt-get goodness on Redhat!
Cheers.
