I am using an IDN card with Suse 9 on the laptop. I never been able to get the 
built in modem to work with any of the 8's. However I will play this weekend 
and see if things are different now.

Now trouble with power management. The laptop (an old Advent) is powering up 
and down as it should. Have not had to reboot at all yet. The power 
management is even giving me an accurate assessment of battery time. Never 
got that with 8.2. So perhaps Suse have sorted power management out as they 
say they have.
