Erk. Sorry, I just won't use or read HTML-only mail - I still prefer old 
tech for email, so elm and nmh are my mail readers, especially as I use 
text terminals heavily, and Lynx (or similar) is not always available, and 
even if it is, it's pointless if someone makes heavy use of <img>. 

Personal gripes about it aside, it also risks from being implemented in a 
number of different ways. IE and Gecko, being the two most used HTML
engines, interpret HTML slightly differently, with CSS support being rather 
behind in IE compared to Gecko, so what you see isn't nesscessarily what 
other people get. Combine this with other mail clients that may have their
own HTML engines (Pegasus on Win32 and exmh on UNIX for example), and you
get a right mish-mash. Then there's the issue of fonts which should speak
for itself.

All in all, HTML mail is not reliable, compared to plain text, IMO, and 
probably never will be.
