It's interesting that some significant projects are now starting to ask
people to post in HTML. I expect the trend to continue.

The NT kernel is slightly more modular than I think you give it credit.
Filesystems tend to be easy pieces of code to port (given how complex
they are), virtually all OSes implement some kind of virtual abstraction
layer to deal with them. That's probably also why there are quite a few
projects to get ext2/3 support into Windows.

Your words were "this is likely not possible". I was pointing out that
it's merely work.
