Not really; that's why themes tend to come in different colour
packages.

Um, I think if you're just talking about the desktop, you would have to
resize each one individually, which is a bit of an arse.

You can go to the "File Management Preferences" (under Preferences >
More Preferences in Fedora Core 2 Gnome 2.6), and the Views->Icon Views
Defaults->Default zoom level will affect the desktop, but it affects the
whole desktop (as in, everything).

You could try opening a bug for 2), since I could imagine that you would
want the actual Desktop to behave differently to the rest of the
desktop, but this might be an old argument. I know 1) is definitely an
old argument, there's a very good reason you can't do it, but I cannot
for the life of me remember what it is. I suspect it's something
technical to do with Gtk+ rather than a usability thing, though.
