It shouldn't - it shouldn't be setting up a route on its own, because
you (obviously) can't guess that kind of information. Link local mean
"local to the ethernet segment", not beyond.

The only thing I can think of is that you have a router or some other
device actually advertising that route?

That does sound like a bug worth reporting. I would suspect some
interaction between NetworkManager and Avahi, personally.

I've heard people having problems with that; auto eth0 sometimes solved
them. It also sounds more like what you're after (static configuration
come-what-may).
