 The drive is a new parallel port zip, using the imm driver (built-in to
the kernel). It`s connected up to my main box, running a Gigabyte mobo -
I`m using the port on that, rather some add-on parport card.
 I`m using kernel 2.2.14-5.0, and all the drivers that go with it.

 The drives serial # is RRBW33C4WC.

 The drive isn`t all that old, I guess I could return it...
