sounds like the problem with the x server..... does it happen when you move 
the mouse? others on the list have had similar probs.....

absolutly not.
i run mandrake8.0 on a pII 300 with ata33 hard drive and the sound is exactly 
the same as under windows. i must admit to having similar probs with suse6.3 
so i don't use it anymore..... but the suse evangelists at sheflug will surly 
help out ;-)
