Re: [Sheflug] Boot messages
Hi Alex,
Yes, I'm puzzled by its antics. The computer also has the 2.2.18 kernel on
with rt3.0 and that works fine. It definitely is hanging - I've left it for
an hour and it still doesn't twitch. I am assuming that it must be something
to do with 'lo' as it stops half way along that line - doesn't get to the
'OK' at the end. On the 2.2.18 boot, the next message I get is Portmapper.
I've just done another fresh rebuild and taken out most things which didn't
look essential and I have exactly the same problem again - wierd!
I'm not sure whether it would be worth pulling the net card out or replacing
it with another type to see if that makes a difference but I can't see why
it should. The present card is an old 3Com 509 which works OK with the
2.2.18 build and this is the only card I have setup as a 'yes' in Xconfig,
although I did set others as modules in case I want to add another in.
Perhaps I'll just do another compile and leave ALL the net stuff out to see
if that helps.
