Seriously though, Mandrake has won awards for it's ease of use and
simplicity to set up with bizarre stuff (not any *recognised* awards,
AFAIK, buy hey...)

I would recomment giving it a try. Plus, it's redhat compatible RPM
wise, so most of the RPM's out there will work. They also seem to have
RPM's for stuff everyone else it ignoring (gphoto2 and gtkam are in the
mandrake cooker. Everyone else has to build from source!)
