In Windows, if you want to install an application you download it and click on 
it. That's it. Until Linux can do that, its going to have trouble winning the 
desktop. Your average user doesn't want to know about the command line - its 
fine for those of us who grew up with DOS, but today's users are used to a 
simpler way of working.
