Can I just say something here as another person with an appalling tendency
to ask "muppet" questions?
As something of a "muppet" user myself, I like to lurk and read people's
various problems and the solutions that are offered. It all gets logged in
my grey matter for future reference and a very high proportion of my linux
knowledge has been gleaned from this list. For that, I thank you all.
At times, there are some pretty high-brow discussions which are totally
over my head but it never ceases to amaze me how people who can communicate
at these levels still find the time and patience to help solve the most
basic and "muppet-like" problems.
Through being on this list, I now intend to set up a linux box at home so
that I can dabble with the stuff I don't have time to dabble with here at
work. I'd like to think the list elders can give themselves a pat on the
back for achieving that much with me.
As far as linux distros go, I very much like SuSE. A little non-standard in
some respects maybe, and very much a general purpose distro, but
nonetheless, quite easy to learn on as the support is very good.
WARNING: expect a surge of "muppet" questions from me when I start to get
to grips with my home linux system ;-)
