ROFL.
I'm trying to get muppetification of all subjects to an art form :-)
Don't worry if you ask silly questions - at least you've had a good
stab at it already but are about to loose the plot in frustration -
it's a great feeling to get it all sorted out after a quick few posts
to the LUG.
I gradually started to look at Perl at the end of November - you
should have seen some of the questions I was asking at Perlmonks then
:-)
Not doing too bad now.

*BSD manpages - MMmmmmm. Perldoc even better!
Linux documentation (especially when backed up with questions to a
LUG) aren't too bad at all - but as Alex says, it does take a little
bit of head scratching to tune into it all.
Windows documentation? Wossat?
I was most unimpressed when I got a Win98 PC after the manuals I'd got
with my Amiga 500 - especially the (finally rather tatty) shell
commands reference.
Most Windows documentation appears to be some Microsoft sanctioned
tome with lots of step-by-step point and drool pictures (certainly the
Sybex Win2k MCSE book I've read was...).
In comparison *Nix systems are practically overflowing with info (doh!
I mean manpages).
Cheers.
Baz.
