I have a copy of Caldera eDesktop 2.4, which I get the impression is the
same as the distro in question. My experience? A dream to install, until
something goes wrong. Just see if you can find out what it's doing!!
Caldera aimed eDesktop at the user, but dumbed it down quite a lot. It
has a comprehensive development environment too, though. Their aim was
to make it as easy as possible for new users to do things like compile
their own stuff without panicking about libraries, etc.
IMHO Mandrake has taken over this role admirably. Could be worth a shot?

When I started using Linux, I wanted to spend time surfing the web, but
I couldn't. It wouldn't work! Turned out to be a non-standard IRQ on my
internal modem, but if it wasn't for the community at large (including
the early ShefLUG members) I don't know how long it would have been
until my brain figured out something so simple!!

One of the two reasons I got involved! Documentation (lots of stuff to
learn! I love it!) and an excellent OPEN development environment. Bliss!

"Oh, run out of room. ALT-F2. ALT-F2? ALT-F2!?!?! WHERES MY SECOND *#! [at]
